Luxury Camping, ah now doesn’t that sound just great?  Luxury when camping.

However, what is this “luxury camping”.  Isn’t camping meant to be blow up beds that go down or sleeping on those thin mats and getting a bad nights sleep and waking up in the morning tired?  Or that familiar old bad weather scenario where the rain hits and comes through the lining with the end result of a yucky wet sleeping bag?  Isn’t it about trying to move around in small spaces while crunched over?

Absolutely not!  Gone are all these days.  The new trend sweeping the camping globe is luxury camping.  Luxury camping is also known as “glamourous camping” aka “glamping” and “boutique camping.

However, luxury camping is not confined only to the traditional camping tent with the luxury twist of course.  Falling under the category of luxury camping are all sorts of types of accommodation for you to pick from.

There are many forms of creative accommodation for luxury camping that include tree houses, wagons, tipis, podpasts, cloudhouses, squrts and yurts.  Generally the types of accommodation are mobiles structures that remind us of camping, but don’t have the elements of camping that are not so positive.  Instead we have the luxury and glamourous aspects of camping to look forward to.

You will find luxury camping in many places all around the globe.  Very hot for luxury camping is the region of Europe which seems to be leading the way.  There are some luxury camping sites that offer a mix of types of abodes.  Or other locations may specialize in one particular type of lodging and indeed you may find tents erected but in luxurious surroundings and fashion.  {Indeed there could be erected tents but with a luxurious twist.}  For example in a forrest with big grand tents erected on wooden platforms with luxurious bathrooms and more.

On some sites they take it to another level and offer classic retreat type services such as therapies or massage in a yurt or on site yoga classes.

There is a great variety on offer and you need to do your homework to check you are getting exactly the experience and services you are looking for your luxury camping trip.

There are a few key things to remember if you’ve never been camping alone, yes, even if you’ve gone with your parents.

Firstly, although it may seem like a lot of effort for nothing, you will want to check your tent and other equipment. Put the tent up in the yard a week or so before you are due to leave on the trip. This allows you to check that you have all the tent pegs, poles and ropes needed to put the tent up properly. If it rains water will likely come in through the roof and the floor, so make sure to check for any holes.

Make sure there is not a hole in the inflatable mattress if you are bringing one, whether you have an air mattress or not be sure to bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. Waking up on the ground after falling asleep on an air matress is not fun. Pack an extra blanket in case of cold tempuratures at night.

Remember everything you need to make a meal if you plan on cooking at the campsite. Take one or two small pots usually suffice, a grid for the fire so you can barbecue, and all the crockery and cutlery you think you may need. Starting a fire every time you want coffee is inconvienant, you should bring a small gas cooker. It would be wise to fill the gas before you leave. You will also need cleaning materials to wash and dry the dishes.

Make sure nothing has been opened and is sealed tightly to prevent spills of your non-perishable foods. Donít forget condiments and spices, often the las thing you think of packing. It is a good idea to use one container for all of the food so it can be used as a pantry for the trip, and keep all liquids in plastic bags so it doesnt get dry food wet. Perishable foods should be kept at a minimum, and packed last, buy any perishable foods you need as you go along.

Toiletries are not provided, pack toilet paper, and consider bringing a few different sizes of bath plugs, incase one isnt provided. If the campsite has communal ablutions, take plastic thongs to wear in the bathroom. Heading to the shower will be easier if you keep your items in a small bag or basket.

Most things you forget or run out of can be purchased at a local store unless your site is completely remote. You will be able to relax and enjoy nature if you prepare for a well organized trip.

Last weekend we went on a trip to Isle Of Wight from West Midlands. It was about 12 of us and was undecided on which cars to take. At first we thought we will just take our normal 3 doors cars but then we realised we won’t be able to fit our camping gear with bbq equipments. We went online read few used car reviews on which cars to take and the decided to hire out one 4×4 to fit our camping and bbq gears.

We leased 3 ltr Nissan Navara and to be honest it didn’t cost as much as we thought it would the only problem we had was it did drank a lot of petrol. Though it is a tremendous 4×4 to drive. It has huge amount of room at the back to fit your luggages, BBQ equipments, camping equipments and we even took some woods as we wanted to put on fire along the beach and it was very relaxing driving this car especially when you are going for a long trip.

After the reasearch online we contacted out local used cars hire company for a quote. It was relevantly cheap to hire this car for few days, which was quite shocking as we were expecting it to be expensive. We had a good drive till we got to M25 where we got stuck in traffic, I was driving the Nissan and two of my other friends were on BMW M3 and Audi R8. We had to catch a ferry from Portsmouth at 4:30pm and as soon as we hit M25 after picking few friends from London it wasn’t looking good until I turn on the navigation system of the Navara, it showed us a different route through M3 but also showed us how much traffic that route had, it was incredible. What a brilliant navigational system? The technology has gone far today. If only the M3 or even the R8 had it. I don’t want to give all the credit to the navigation system of the Nivara, as the drive, the handling, the power and the speed all were great.

With camping season upon us, it’s time to take the gear out of storage and take a look at what is probably the most important piece of equipment for your comfort: your sleeping bag. If your current sleeping bag is worn, it may be time to choose a new one. When you are shopping, look for one suitable for you and your needs, of the right size and style, and with the proper filler and lining, which will determine if it is warm enough for the climate you will be in.Once you decide on the style of your sleeping bag, it can help to make the rest of the choices a little easier. There are three basic shapes to choose from – mummy, rectangle and combination. The mummy sleeping bag is generally the warmest as it conforms to the contours of your body leaving considerably less room for cold air to be trapped compared to other styles. It has a hood to cover your head, and an elastic or drawstring draft collar to keep the warm air inside the bag from escaping past your neckline. The rectangle style bag allows much more space for movement but does not have a hood or draft collar. Rectangular bags are indeed a great deal wider and arguably more comfortable. As an addition, two rectangular bags could be joined together to form a much larger double sleeping bag to hold two people. The combination sleeping bags use different features from each style, enabling you to possible have the best of both worlds, depending on your preferences. It is important to look at all styles and judge what you would personally feel more comfortable in.Once you have chosen the style you want, the next step is to choose a lining and filler. The filler is especially important if you are allergic to down, or have a particular sensitivity to down with asthma or other respiratory conditions. There are two fillers to decide on – synthetic and down. A synthetic fiber filler is generally heavier than down but when wet, it does not absorb water so therefore insulating ability is not reduced. A down filler is lighter than synthetic fiber but it requires more care and you must not get it wet or it will be useless. Is the sleeping bag you are considering of a correct size to accommodate your height and weight? Although the necessity of this proper sizing seems evident, this is actually one factor that many people seem to forget about when making their decision. And as a final but no less important point, keep in mind that sleeping bags have temperature ratings which they are designed to meet. You might choose a bag rated for temperatures even cooler than the environment you will be in if you are one of those people who is always cold. And for your own comfort, don’t forget that it is generally more difficult to warm up than it is to be too hot and cool yourself down if necessary.

Me and my friends have always been close. Ever since the year we graduated, we meet up every summer for a camping trip. We don’t even have to arrange it, we just know that the second weekend in August, we head up north to our favorite spot. I grab my dreadnought acoustic guitar, jump in the van with a couple of days of clothes, and hit the road.

We all have different ideas of what camping is, but that’s fine with me. One of us is head chef at some fancy LA restaurant. We give him some cash and he always shows up with the most amazing food. I could never imagine such divine foods were created cooking over a campfire, but he can do it, and we eat like kings. We’ll get up in the morning and he’s working on pancakes from scratch working with hand mixers and everything.

Another one, Susan, always drives up in her small RV, which is impeccably done up with what she calls ‘home decor accents‘ so it’s like she’s still at home. She brings these huge batteries for powering the thing so she can have lighting and A/C and sit in comfort whenever she wants.

So we’ll eat and drink and reminisce, and then go on our customary 15 mile hike. I used to be a lot better at that, but now not so much. It’s the high altitude that gets me, and probably the 30 or so pounds I’ve gained since we first started doing this thing 10 years ago.

It’s not an easy hike when you’re running on no sleep. Everyone has a case of insomnia with Dave around. His snoring keeps everyone up! I swear it was so bad the first year we were there we thought it was a bear trying to get our food!

Now our trips have even more meaning since one of our crew was killed on a highway motorbike crash. He was always there with us, but now it brings us even closer and it’s like he’s still there with us year after year.

Our trip up every year might come to an end for some of us in the near future. As we get married and have kids, end up having more responsibility, it makes it harder to escape, even for one weekend. Until that day we’ll always cherish these weekends away.

Making a camping food list may appear extremely simple, but there’s actually some critical info that you should be conscious of before starting on this. If you would like to have the most fun on your next camping trek and guarantee you have got a spread or foods included on your camping food list, you’re going to need to come up with some great camping food recipes. Many people accept that they’re only ready to take along canned foods and other non-perishable foods when they are going camping, but this is fundamentally not right, and basically, as long as you use common-sense, you can bring almost any food you want with you when you go camping.

To start on your camping food list, you will first have to be conscious of any foods that you’re allergic to, don’t like, or aren’t able to buy in your neighborhood for example. This way you are narrowing down your options and will have less of a variety to work with here. Now to make your camping food list, you would like to meal plan. This implies brooding about what you are going to be eating each meal while you are on your trip, which may finish up saving you a giant quantity of time and effort in the future.

Confirm that you mix it up and have some variety, because you’ll get bored with the same meals over and over again. Having the same meal twice in a week isn’t bad at all, and will make sure that you aren’t wasting food, but just make sure you switch it up and space out the meals so you are not eating a corresponding thing one night after another.

There are masses of different foods that you can choose from for your camping trip, but to make the best camping food list you’ll have an interest in speciality foods that are available for camping and backpacking trips. Journey Foods is one great company offer these foods, and they carry a variety of foods for backpackers, as an example deep dish pizza and Spanish rice with beef. You aren’t going to become bored when you bring these sorts of meals along, and naturally you then just have to make sure that you have the correct cooking kit with you so that you can get the food ready.
