Las Vegas Luxor is both a hotel and casino and a focal point of attraction in the Sin City. It is probably one of the places that most people know at least from pictures and documentaries when it comes to touristic attractions around the world. On the location of the hotel, there used to be the Pyramid House, but much of the former atmosphere has been preserved in this themed resort. The name comes from the city of Luxor, located in the Valley of the Kings in ancient Egypt.

Las Vegas Luxor was built in 1991 and it was renovated in 2007. Tourists have more than 4,000 rooms available in addition to restaurants, clubs and lounges. In the same year of the renovation, one of the pyramid’s black surfaced facades advertised for Absolut Vodka but last year, in 2008, the ad was taken off. Reviews say that the former look of Las Vegas Luxor, prior to the renovation, had more of the Egyptian atmosphere than the present-day structure. A river surrounded the casino and tourists where given a boat trip of the place.

Some guests even complained that this mini-tour took too long, which is probably one reason for the removal of this pseudo-attraction. In addition, tourists believed that they could see the ghosts of two of the workers who had died in an accident during the construction period.

The resort Las Vegas Luxor also used to have a night club, a theater and many other attractions. Nowadays things have changed a lot. CathHouse presently replaces the two former restaurants, and modifications took place at the nightclub as well; fortunately, you can still find the Las Vegas Luxor Steakhouse only under a different name as well as the IMAX theater which has been renovated to offer even greater performance shows.

The design concept of the hotel belongs to Veldon Simpson. Las Vegas Luxor is a thirty-story pyramid of black glass with a truly impressive look. An imitation of the Sphinx of Giza dominates the entrance, as it is placed right above the portico. Another peculiarity of the building is the tower of light directed towards the skin that has the reputation of being one of the most powerful of such beams worldwide.

If you’re making a call to spend your holiday in Egypt, typically you’ve got a choice of two sea resorts – Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh.  both are popular, but Hurghada is situated in African continent while Sharm El Sheikh lies on Sinai peninsula.

About 30 years gone Hurghada was just a simple fishing town.  But now, with it’s a resort with crystal clear water, untouched reefs.  It has become one of the best Egyptian tourist destinations.  A significant part of its celebrity Hurghada gained as one of the finest diving centers of the planet.  Like all oriental towns Hurghada make living out of trade, so if when you walk along the city, be in a position to beat off the pressing offers of the sellers, deserving to make you purchase their souvenirs.  There are some more entertainments except shopping and diving in Hurghada.  You can make a jeep trip to a desert, visit Bedouin’s village there ; you can see corals and some natural preserves.  Hurghada is also has aqua-park.  Fishing is one of the popular visitor’s activities in Hurghada too.  Today, Hurghada is understood as a party town, particularly among europeans.  Locals and others will tell you that life starts at night in Hurghada, with the many clubs.  The best time to visit Hurghada is October-November.  In winter there are robust winds and it becomes dark very early.

when you’re in Hurghada don’t miss the opportunity to see one of the most outstanding monuments of Egypt history – Luxor and the Valley of the King.  Pharaoh’s tombs and traditional temples are worth visiting.

Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai promontory.  All around are Bedouins, colorful tents, mountains and sea.  Na’ama Beach is one of the middle of the tourist activities.  Located just north of Sharm, this area is developing into a resort city of its own.  For those that like shopping, the Sharm El-Sheikh mall provides shops with both foreign and local products, including jewellery, leather products, clothing, pottery and books.  No-one leaves Sharm el-Sheikh without several useless but terribly nice mementos.  Like Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh is known for diving too, but it has more diversity in corals.

Those, who choose Sharm el-Sheikh also has chance to watch the attraction of Sinai promontory – The priory of St Catherine, Mount Sinai ( or Mountain of Moses ), Pharaoh’s Island and Salah El Din castle, Nabq state Park, Ras Abu Galum state Park and so -called ‘Coloured canyon’.

The last but not the least of the Egypt must-sees is Cairo with its pyramids.  From either Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh it’s going to be a long trip, but you may never regret it!

When you going to Egypt, be advised that 3-star hotels in Egypt have nothing to do with 3-star hostels in Europe.  So, it’s better to choose 4 or 5 star hotel.  Probably it saves you from many troubles.  Frequently the large hotels have zoos, playgrounds, discos, bars, a number of pools and even tiny theaters.  So, could be you’ll to want to leave your hotel.  Anyway, a visit to Egypt guarantees to be exotic and interesting expierence.
