Stratford-upon-Avon is a gorgeous market  town in the West Midlands region of England within Great Britain that’s exceedingly popular with tourists. In the main the town is extremely famous for being the town in which William Shakespeare was born and even if nearly all of visitor points of interest in Stratford-upon-Avon are related to the well-known poet and playwright there are many other reasons to take a holiday within Stratford-upon-Avon.

Located 91 miles from London, the capital of England, Stratford-upon-Avon is the place to watch a Shakespearean play especially in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Although the town gets crowded with visitors it remains a amazing place to visit.

Stratford-upon-Avon has a wealth of Jacobean and Elizabethan structures and in places such as Sheep Street and Henley Street you will find those half-timbered black and white dwellings and other structures. Henley Street is most well known for being the place where you will see Shakespeare’s Birthplace, but it is also a superb shopping district. The oldest lived in house in the town is found on Sheep Street. The Shrieves House is believed to be the house in which Oliver Cromwell lived in before the second battle of Worcester but, unfortunately, there is no actual evidence to support the fact.

Like the other main Canary Islands such as Tenerife Lanzarote is probably best known as a package holiday destination.  Although in recent years it has started to attract a greater number of independent travellers.  Thanks in no small part to the introduction of more cheap flights to the island from low cost operators such as Ryanair and easyJet.  With returns now available at most airports across the UK starting from as little as €100.

More independent travellers means more demand for self catering accommodation.  And this has resulted in the growth of the private rental sector.  With thousands of Lanzarote holiday villas and apartments now available.  And despite the fact that there are now plenty of attractive hotels and  fincas in the countryside most visitors from the UK still prefer to book something in one of the larger resorts.  With villas in Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen in great demand especially during the peak holiday periods.

Do a quick search on the web for Lanzarote Villas to find the ideal holiday accommodation to suit most vistors.

Lanzarote is famous for its volcanoes – and rightly so.  During the 1730´s the island was rocked by eruptions that lasted for over six years.  So today much of the island’s interior resembles the surface of another planet – characterised by a very dry and arid terrain.  So who would have thought that a place with as little rainfall as Lanzarote could be home to its very own wood?

But visitors to the north will find El Bosque perched on the Famara massif range of cliffs.  Providing a verdant antidote to the volcanic region and a popular picnic spot for locals.  As very few tourists are aware of this spot, which doesn’t feature on many maps and isn’t signposted.  Making it very tricky to find. El Bosque is located en route to the breathtaking Valley of 1000 Palms, which is the greenest spot on Lanzarote.  Thanks to the age old tradition of planting a new palm tree for every baby born in the nearby village of Haria.  Where an atmospheric weekly market is also staged every Saturday morning, featuring stalls selling local cheeses and wines.  And from where tourists can enjoy some fabulous walks around the folds and spurs of the valley.

Sometimes your holiday turns out to be less fun than you expected it to be. Perhaps you were unhappy with your hotel or the services provided by your tour operator. Under these circumstances you might expect the tour company to take a little money off your bill or perhaps to offer you something to appease you. This usually does not happen and there are a couple of reasons as to why. Firstly, the economic climate that the world is facing right has resulted in tour operators and property owners doing everything they can to cut their outgoings, and none obligatory financial gestures are seen by them as something which is a none essential outgoing. They are more concerned about simply surviving the recession than making sure that each and every one of their customers goes away happy. Secondly, an ever increasing amount of holiday-goers are making independent booking arrangements rather than booking through a travel agent. Due to the size of travel agents, and the amount of business that they can send to hoteliers and property owners, they can easily exert pressure on the people responsible, however, one-off customers, who have tried to save money by cutting travel agents out of the equation, have no such leverage. That does not mean that you have to simply accept the situation though – far from it. The law is on your side if you have been mislead or mistreated and if you know what steps to take then you can certainly get some payback to make up for your poor holiday experience. The key rules for successful holiday compensation claims are as follows…

- Complain as early as possible i.e. when you are still on your holiday. This way there is an opportunity for the agent, hotelier, owner, etc. to be able to actually deal with the problem. Quite possibly, it is something that they can rectify.

- Find evidence. Write notes, take photos and videos. You should also call witnesses if necessary.

- Don’t make the complaint too elaborate. State your problem simply and succinctly.

- Keep your message simple and tell whoever you feel is at fault what the problem is.

- Be calm. If you stay calm you will appear to be the reasonable one, particularly in a court or mediation setting.

If, after you state your complaint, you feel that you are not being dealt with reasonably, it is within your rights to take legal action against the agency, accommodation or tour operator that you feel has breached their guarantee. They can be taken to court and the court will deal with them and you may receive compensation. Follow the steps above and the chances that you will win your suit are very good.

The famous Italian city of Venice is set into a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It is essentially many small islands joined together by a canal. At one time it was one a power base of Europe as a result of its naval might and strong trade connections. Whilst it is no longer a hub of economic activity, its grand and magnificent buildings and monuments remain as testament to its glory days. These days it is a very calm and relaxing place – perfect for a romantic trip away. For the true Venice experience, visitors should spend at least a few hours taking a boat trip through the streets. It will be something that you never forget.

And finally, there’s Paris. Everyone knows that Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world. It is also large and full of life. The center of Paris is home to many famous architectural sites including the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and The Eiffel Tower. Much of Paris’ character comes from the River Seine which runs through the city. Paris is also the home of all sorts of secret city squares and hidden gardens. The most famous art museum in Paris is, of course, The Louvre but there are many, many others. And, of course, Paris is known for its restaurants and shopping.

Now Try : Co-op Holidays

A lot of people in offices all over the world feel that they do not go on vacation enough or do not get enough time to do it. A lot of people blame the wrong people for this, here is what happens.

The Companies

It would seem that a lot of the time taking vacation can be tough on someone because the company boss just moans and ignores you for weeks on end just because you have taken a holiday. This is very wrong indeed and if you go on holiday they will get over it, your job is safe because they cannot fire you for something like this.

The Individual

Many people put blame on the companies that employ them when it comes to not taking their vacation time but the fact is a lot of the time people simply do not book their travels and leave it far too late for doing anything. when it comes to this the only thing you can do is blame yourself for it all. You need to be careful because a lot of people want to book their holidays in the summer, the sooner you book the better.

Shorter Breaks

Things like spa breaks and luxury spas in Barbados can be done in short burst a couple of times a year which is great because you can get away a few times in the same year. Spa resorts in St Lucia is another one that can be tried like this.

All in all you must always make sure that you get your vacation in a year because if you don’t you will find that you are having to catch up on holiday by sitting at home doing nothing. Whilst this is fine for the odd day, when it comes to a couple of weeks it just gets so dull.

The popular resort of Puerto del Carmen nestles into the eastern coastline of Lanzarote and has some of the best weather to be found anywhere on the Canarian island. The town is protected from the prevailing winds that blow off the Atlantic by a range of volcanoes at its back.

As a result, the numerous sandy beaches along its seven kilometre seafront offer ideal conditions for sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming. Whilst the recent improvements to the promenade make it a much more enjoyable place for pedestrians.

Over the years, the resort has grown from a tiny fishing village to a small town, with a particular emphasis on self-catering accommodation. A wide number of apartments in Lanzarote are based in Puerto del Carmen, with everything from very basic facilities to luxury penthouse properties available to rent. Visitor here are spoilt for choice given the range of holiday apartments in Lanzarote so most needs and requirements are well met.

With no shortage of holiday apartments in Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen consists of numerous complexes that follow a low rise architectural model, with plenty of planting to soften the exteriors. The quiet streets of the town form a tranquil backdrop for holidaymakers. Whilst the standard of accommodation in apartments is very good, some visitors prefer to have a little more space at their disposal. And with an equally broad range of Lanzarote holiday villas to choose from, most holidaymakers will find something to suit their taste and budget.

In the resort itself, there is plenty to keep children and teenagers occupied, with sea-based activities such as banana boats and scuba diving. Just outside Puerto del Carmen, there is also a new golf course and a popular theme park full of wild animals.

There is no shortage of restaurants throughout the town, with almost every type of cuisine represented from Thai to Irish. Perhaps the most atmospheric area for dining is the old harbour, where numerous establishments look out over the sea towards the southern tip of the island.

For those who enjoy late nights whilst on holiday, there is a wide choice of clubs and bars mostly situated in the central area of the town. Unsurprisingly, many of the music venues don’t open their doors until the small hours, as is typical of Spanish nightspots.

The city of Edinburgh has some of the greatest museums and galleries in the whole of the British Isles and within easy reach is a superb collection of fortified houses, historical buildings, castles and country houses which are well worth a visit. The city is a city which is composed of two parts, the New Town and the Old Town, which are vastly different, but both are a World Heritage Site.

The Edinburgh festival year starts, or ends, with Hogmanay. As well known is the brilliant Edinburgh Fringe Festival and other festivals include; the Book Festival, Festival of Politics, Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Mela and more.

Edinburgh Accommodation

As I said earlier the worst month to find rooms is August when the vast majority of Edinburgh Hotels are fully booked. Sadly the same could be said about the Christmas holiday period which is often booked a full 12 months ahead, so it is really crucially important to book early!

The city has a great amount of accommodation ranging from pretty inexpensive, budget inn to the amazingly costly superior luxury country mansion hotels and the likes with a good deal of services and facilities.
